It is generally well know that eating a healthy balanced diet is good for you. However long before recommended daily allowances and looking to the backs of packets for carb, protein and fat content - was the ability to eat according to hunger levels, sensory awareness (sight/smell/touch/taste) and of course access to food. These days the bounty in our supermarkets, flown across continents, and packaged within days can be overwhelming to both the planet and our health.
