VATA, PITTA, KAPHA

Determining your unique mind-body composition (dosha) is the basis from which to create an ayurvedic lifestyle.  Think of a dosha as your individual blueprint that describes your unique personality, tendencies and physical nature. Since everyone is unique, approaches to health and healthcare are best created with the individual in mind as people respond to stimuli differently.  Understanding your dosha reveals how to keep yourself in balance to stay happy, healthy and disease free.

In Ayurveda everything in the Universe (including ourselves) is made up of five elements - air, space, fire, water and earth to differing degrees.  Imbalances in our health can occur when these energies or elements fall out of balance depending upon the intelligence they are given i.e through our lifestyle choices and sensory practices.    Although there are many doshas each relating to specific areas of the body, there are  three main doshas, known as Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

You can take the Ayurvedic Prakruti quiz to determine your innate nature and you can also take a Vikruti quiz to determine your current state of health over the past 30-60 day period which gives us an indication of how healthy and well you are or, if not 100% then where you may be experiencing an imbalance.  From this you will be able to call upon the the tools of an ayurvedic lifestyle to rebalance you and move you towards optimal health and happiness.
